Opening workshop in Berlin - Executive Master in EU Studies
It all starts with Berlin! 18 of our 25 new students met for the first time in Berlin for the opening workshop on 13 to 15 October 2023. 18 nationalities, diverse and interesting professional backgrounds, we are glad to welcome them and to support them on their two-year journey.
After meeting with Edgar Lenski at the German Chancellery, a guided tour of the government district and the Reichstag Dome was organised on an intensive first workshop day. A walk through the illuminated streets of Berlin during the Festival of Lights made for a particularly special atmosphere.
On Saturday and Sunday, the experts introduced the first term courses, which gave the students and experts the opportunity to meet in person before diving into the course presentations. Over the two days, Wolfgang Wessels and Birgit Bujard introduced 'Institutional Architecture of the EU', Anja Thomas 'Fundamentals of Scientific Work', Edgar Lenski and Kai Kraus 'Introduction to European Law' and CIFE Director General Matthias Waechter 'History of European Integration'.
We want to thank our motivated and enthusiastic students as well as our dedicated experts for this first workshop and are very much looking forward to the next one – in beautiful Rome in January 2024!
