Prof. Alexios Antypas supports Ms Gyene in managing the forum for the course Sustainable Development in the EU in the first year of the Executive Master of EU Studies.
He joined the Central European University in Hungary in 2000. Since 2008, he is the Director of the Center for Environment and Security.
Prior to that he worked in a Civic Education Project as a visiting professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Rezekne in Latvia, as an Adjunct faculty in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Lemoyne College, Syracuse, New York and as a consultant to UNDP, UNEP, the US Forest Service and the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe.
His research interests include Global environmental governance, Environmental policy change and transformation, Human rights and the environment as well as Science-policy studies.
He holds a PhD in natural resources policy and sociology from the University of Washington, a MSc in environmental science from the State University of New York / College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a B.A. in history from Georgetown University.
