Dr. Karen E. Smith

Dr. Karen E. Smith is Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

She is the author of European Union Foreign Policy in a Changing World (Polity Press, 2003), and The Making of European Union Foreign Policy: The Case of Eastern Europe (Macmillan, 1999; 2nd edition, 2003 forthcoming); and co-editor with Margot Light of Ethics and Foreign Policy (Cambridge University Press, 2001), and with Christopher Hill of European Foreign Policy: Key Documents (Routledge, 2000).

Her research interests include EU external human rights policy and the EU's relations with the United Nations.
