Online Courses: Courses on offer

The European Online Academy is not only virtual. The core curriculum will be provided online, but also through four "presence workshops" (in Rome, Prague, Brussels and Berlin). In this way face-to-face learning complements e-learning. The core curriculum is linked to relevant contents and it serves - beyond "classic" lectures and seminars - as a new and innovative way of teaching and learning EU-related issues.

I. Compulsory courses (first trimester)

  1. The institutional architecture of the EU: evolution and reforms (Prof. Wessels, Cologne)
  2. History of European Integration (Dr. Marhold, Nice/ Berlin)
  3. European Law I – Basics of European (constitutional) Law (Prof. Pernice, Berlin)

II. Optional courses (second trimester)

  1. European Law in action (II): Leading cases: Internal Market and Competition (Prof. Pernice, Berlin)
  2. Political Aspects of EU Widening: enlargement to 25 and more members (Prof. Bafoil, Paris)
  3. The European Union in the international system (Dr. Smith , London)
  4. The European Economic and Monetary Union and the Stability and Growth Pact (SGP) (Prof. Le Cacheux, Paris/ Pau)

III. Optional courses (third trimester)

  1. Economic dimension of EU integration in an enlarged EU (Prof. Inotai, Budapest)
  2. Sustainable Development in the EU (Dr. Ingeborg Niestroy, EEAC Brussels and Mr. Louis Meuleman, RMNO, The Hague)
  3. Justice and Home Affairs (Mrs. Dora Correira, Brussels)
  4. Interest Representation in the EU (Prof. Justin Greenwood, Aberdeen Business School)

Additional lectures and trainings

Additional special-focus lectures by experts or by officials will be offered during theworkshops in Rome, Prague, Brussels and Berlin Professional training sessions will be held on:

  • simulations of international and intercultural negotiations
  • inter-cultural communication
  • advanced e-learning skills
